The high-voltage composite suspension insulator is composed of three parts: insulation core rod, silicon rod, silicon rubber shed, and connecting fittings at both ends. The insulation core rod plays multiple roles such as supporting the silicon rubber shed, internal insulation, connecting fittings at both ends, and bearing mechanical loads. It has high strength, generally reaching more than 600Mpa, which is twice that of ordinary steel materials and 5-8 times higher than ceramic materials. It also has good electrical performance and good chemical corrosion resistance, as well as good resistance to bending fatigue, creep, and impact. The silicone rubber shed mainly serves to protect the core rod, block rain and snow, increase the creepage distance, and provide external insulation for the product. The silicone rubber shed has good hydrophobicity and mobility, as well as good resistance to corrosion, aging, electrical insulation and other properties. It also has high pollution flashover voltage and non fragility. The voltage distribution is uniform, and compared with porcelain, its flashover voltage is more than twice that of porcelain under the same conditions. It is lightweight (1/8 of porcelain insulators), small in size, non fragility, high tensile strength, and it is easy for installation and transportation.
